Fall Registration Communication

EDGE Families,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer so far. It seems surprising, but school will be starting in just under a month. It’s also that time of year again to register for the Fall Season.

REGISTRATION FEES:

Registration is a couple weeks later this year, and we’ve been working through changes throughout the region related to tournament fees. The cost of hosting, and attending tournaments continue to rise. Facility use fees are starting to be charged by more communities, and that is being reflected with increased costs for tournaments. We’ve continually worked to keep fees as low as possible, but will need to increase them this year in order to cover costs associated with Tournament Fees, State Fees, Coaches Fees, Equipment, and overhead costs associated with the club operations.

Fall registration fee in 2024 was $325 and you were then charged an additional $37 fee by Wyoming Soccer. The state is now moving back to a model where the club will be charged the fee for all registered players at the conclusion of registration. This put the total charge for your player last year at $362 (U9-15) and $262 (U7-8).  In order to cover cost increases mentioned above, as well as the inclusion state fee, we are raising fees by $38.

Registration Fees will be as follows:

U7-U8 -- $300 and will include up to 4 tournaments.

U9-U15 -- $400 and will include up to 4 tournaments

HS(U16-U19) -- $150 and does NOT include any tournaments. Fees will be billed directly

PRACTICE ONLY -- $100. Should a player ultimately attend any tournaments the actual tournament fee will be billed.

Registration will be open 07/22-08/03 and we will be instituting a $50 late fee for any registrations received after midnight on 08/3.

Reminder that these fees do NOT include the uniform costs and that is also noted in the registration notes.

EVALUATIONS\TRYOUTS

I’ve never been a huge fan of the term “Tryout,” and would prefer the term “Evaluations.” Many of you have participated in the process for several years and know that the goal isn’t to cut players but rather to determine appropriate placement based on skill level as related to the whole of an age group. The board, along with multiple coaches, have determined that this process is better completed during the first few weeks of practice as opposed to during a 1 hour session. Coaches will be having a meeting at the conclusion of registration and then reaching out with practice schedules for the weeks to follow. Team compositions will then be made prior to first tournament of the season.

POTENTIAL TOURNAMENTS

GSC BOARD and AGM (Annual General Meeting)

Annual elections to the board of directors will be held Monday August 18th, 2025.  We are effectively electing an entirely new board this year as we have multiple positions that were picked up on an interim basis in the past year. The by-laws state that the individuals holding those positions will do so until the next Annual General Meeting. All club members in attendance at the AGM are allowed one vote per active player. We are actively seeking nominations for individuals that would be interested in joining the board and are looking to play a larger role within the club.

The following positions will be elected this year: President, Vice-President, Registrar, PR, Secretary, Treasurer, Director of Coaching and Tournament Director.

Please reach out to president@gilletteedge.com if you are interested in learning more about the positions or if you have someone that you wish to nominate.  Nominations will not be taken at the meeting and will need to be submitted prior to the AGM.

Please feel free to reach with any questions, or concerns regarding any of the information above. We’re all looking forward to a great fall season and can’t wait to see all of our young athletes out on the pitch.

Thank you and GO EDGE!!
